Invest a little time in planning for a less stressful, more enjoyable vote day!

Start early and allow yourself plenty of time for each step!

-- Your voting buddies. Who are you going to research your ballot with / vote with / check in with / hang out with after?

-- Your voter registration. Get clear on your registration. Register for the first time if you need to, or banish any uncertainty by checking your registration status.

-- Your voting style. Get clear on your options. Your vote day doesn’t have to be Election Day! Unless you love voting in person on Election Day, can you take advantage of any of the new voting superpowers to make voting more pleasant? Vote by Mail, Early Voting, etc.

-- If you’re voting in person: Check if you get time off from work / check what hours the polls are open / check your polling place. If you need help getting there, are any organizations in your community offering rides?

-- Your ballot. You never have to go unprepared to the polls. You can study the ballot before vote day (it’s available on many websites and often published in a local paper). Many states mail handy voter guides that lay out all the candidates and issues for you. And who do you know you can bounce questions off of, if you’re not sure about something?
