Step 1. Are you eligible to vote?

Can you answer YES to the following?

If so, you are eligible to vote in Vermont!
  • I’m a US Citizen
  • I'll be at least 18 years old on the day of election
  • I'm a resident of Vermont and a resident of the town in which I’ll apply to be added to the checklist
  • I will take, or have previously taken, the Voter's Oath (if you do not take oaths you may take it as an affirmation)

Step 3. If you need to, register or fix your registration ONLINE! (Click here.)

Step 4. Request a Mail-in Ballot (a.k.a. Absentee Ballot). (Click here.)

OR, if you prefer to vote in person, ask when and where you can Vote Early (before Election Day). This will help you avoid crowds.

Step 5. If you requested a Mail-in Ballot: When it arrives, read the instructions carefully. Complete and return!
