How to vote in North Dakota!

Step 1. Are you eligible to vote?

Can you answer YES to the following?

If so, you are eligible to vote in North Dakota!
  • I’m a US Citizen
  • I'll be at least 18 years old on the day of the election
  • I'm a North Dakota resident
  • I will have been a resident in the precinct for 30 days preceding the election
  • I'm NOT currently imprisoned for a felony conviction
Please note: You do NOT need to register to vote in North Dakota!

Step 2. Request a Mail-in Ballot (a.k.a. Absentee Ballot). (Click here.)

OR, if you prefer to vote in person, ask when and where you can Vote Early (before Election Day). This will help you avoid crowds.

Step 3. If you requested a Mail-in Ballot: When it arrives, read the instructions carefully. Complete and return!
