How to vote in Michigan!

Step 1. Are you eligible to vote?

Can you answer YES to the following?

If so, you are eligible to vote in Michigan!
  • I’m a US Citizen
  • I’ll be at least 18 years old by the next general election
  • I will have resided at my current address for at least 28 days prior to the election
  • I’m NOT currently serving any portion of a felony sentence, including probation
  • I have NOT been adjudicated incompetent to vote by a judge
Step 2. Check your voter registration - you can do it ONLINE! (Click here.)

Step 3. If you need to, register to vote or fix your registration.

Michigan deadlines to register:

Until October 19, 2020:
Register ONLINE. (Click here to register online.)


Until November 2, 2020:
Register in person at your city or township clerk. (You may be able to vote at the same time.)

On November 3, 2020 (Election Day):
Register and vote at the same time at your city or township clerk.

Step 4. Choose YOUR way to vote - whatever works best for you!
Step 5. Enjoy voting!! If you requested a Mail-in Ballot, read the instructions carefully when it arrives. Complete and return! Or, if you prefer to vote in person, Vote Early (before Election Day) to avoid crowds.
