How to vote in Iowa!

Step 1. Are you eligible to vote?

Can you answer YES to the following?

If so, you are eligible to vote in Iowa!
  • I'm a US citizen
  • I’ll be at least 18 years old on Election Day
  • I’m an Iowa resident
  • I can’t claim the right to vote in any other place
  • I’m NOT a convicted felon (or my voting rights have been restored)
  • I haven’t been judged mentally incompetent to vote by a court
Step 2. Check your voter registration - you can do it ONLINE! (Click here.)

Step 3. If you need to, register to vote or fix your registration.

Iowa deadlines to register:

Until October 24, 2020:
Register ONLINE. (Click here to register online.)

From October 24 to November 2, 2020:
Register in person at your county auditor's office. (You may be able to vote at the same time.)

On November 3, 2020 (Election Day):
Register and vote at the same time at your polling place.

Step 4. Choose YOUR way to vote - whatever works best for you!
Step 5. Enjoy voting!! If you requested a Mail-in Ballot, read the instructions carefully when it arrives. Complete and return! Or, if you prefer to vote in person, Vote Early (before Election Day) to avoid crowds.
