- I'm a US citizen
- I’ll be at least 18 years old on Election Day
- I’m an Iowa resident
- I can’t claim the right to vote in any other place
- I’m NOT a convicted felon (or my voting rights have been restored)
- I haven’t been judged mentally incompetent to vote by a court
Step 3. If you need to, register to vote or fix your registration.
Iowa deadlines to register:
Until October 24, 2020:
Register ONLINE. (Click here to register online.)
From October 24 to November 2, 2020:
Register in person at your county auditor's office. (You may be able to vote at the same time.)
On November 3, 2020 (Election Day):
Register and vote at the same time at your polling place.

You can vote a Mail-in Ballot (aka Absentee Ballot). The deadline to request one is
October 24, 2020.
